Three families in South Africa

Fifteen years after the end of Apartheid, how is the most powerful country on the African continent faring? Through the lives of three families, the evolution, immobilism, tensions and hopes of the society are revealed. In the outskirts of Johannesburg, the economic capital of South Africa, the Mtakati family embodies the meteoric rise of the Black middle class that benefited from the affirmative action measures set up by the new government since 1994. In the agricultural Free State province, the Gutters, white farmers descended from Dutch settlers, uphold the old system of separate development and live in fear of the application of the agrarian reform that would see their land confiscated. In the suburbs of Cape Town, the large southern metropolis, the Maxhegwana family is experiencing the difficulties that affect the majority of citizens: precarious housing, violence, AIDS, unemployment, etc. Despite the wave of enthusiasm following the liberation of Nelson Mandela and the introduction of democracy, poverty is still a reality for many people. Festival de vieux films éducatifs

Le foyer rural de Boulleret organise du 9 au 11 juillet prochain un festival de films d'enseignement, comme ceux qui étaient projetés dans les écoles jusqu'à la fin des années 1970.

Le CNDP participe à cette manifestation. L'intervention de Laurent Garreau aura lieu à 18h30 le samedi 10 juillet et portera sur le thème "Le film comme support de cours" avec la projection de 5 documentaires.More
